Punukula residents agree to grow cotton using NPM. CWS joins hands with NGO’s to train farmers’ in NPM.
2001
NPM farmers make higher profits than the non NPM farmers. More farmers shift to NPM the following year.
2003
480 hectares of land is brought under NPM in Punukula and Pullaigudem ( Palvoncha mandal, Khammam district). 174 farmers from Punukula and 120 from Pullaigudem become NPM farmers. The cotton belt of Punukula is brought under NPM.
